What is the American Kitefliers Association?
The main goal of the AKA is to teach everyone about kites. This includes the art of making them, their long history, the technology behind them, and how to fly them well. They want to share the fun and value of kiting with people all over the world.
How Does AKA Bring People Together?
Every year, the AKA holds big meetings called conventions. These events happen in different places across the country. They are a great chance for all club members to meet up, share ideas, and enjoy their love for kites together.
Kite Competitions and Stunt Kites
The American Kitefliers Association also helps organize exciting kite competitions and shows. These events happen all over the United States. In some competitions, people fly special stunt kites. These kites can do amazing tricks, like making sharp 90-degree turns. Judges watch how well fliers guide their kites through tricky patterns with lots of twists and turns.
Kiting Magazine
The AKA also publishes a colorful magazine called Kiting. This magazine comes out four times a year and is sent to all of its members. It's full of interesting articles and pictures about kites and kiting.
