How the Company Helped in World War II

During World War II, American Trading & Production Corporation played an important role. They operated ships for the Merchant navy, which is a fleet of civilian ships that carry goods and supplies. These ships helped the United States Shipping Board and the War Shipping Administration move important supplies.

The company used special ships called Liberty ships and tankers. These ships were part of the merchant navy. Each ship had a crew from American Trading & Production Corporation. The U.S. Navy also provided special guards, called United States Navy Armed Guards. These guards operated the deck guns and radios to protect the ships during the war.

New Companies and Events

In 1972, American Trading & Production Corporation started a new company called American Trading Transportation Co. Inc. This new company had a fleet of six ships.

One of their ships, the American Trader, was involved in an oil spill in 1990 near Huntington Beach, California. Earlier, in 1986, the American Trader also had a collision with another tanker, the HJ Haynes, in Long Beach, California.

Becoming Part of a New Company

In 2012, American Trading & Production Corporation became part of a company called Tema Oil and Gas LLC. This company is based in Houston, Texas. Tema Oil and Gas LLC focuses on finding and producing crude oil and natural gas.
