Amy E. Aldrich Worth (born January 18, 1888 – died April 29, 1967) was an American composer, choir director, and organist. She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Her Life and Music
Amy Worth learned music from several teachers, including Jessie Gaynor. She married Harry Worth in 1915.
She taught piano and worked as an organist and choir director in St. Joseph, Missouri. Later, she moved to Seattle, Washington. There, she led the Women's Chorus at the Women's University Club. She was also a member of the Seattle Society of Composers.
In 1955, Amy Worth had an important role with Sigma Alpha Iota. She was the National Chair of American Music. This meant she helped promote and support American music across the country.
