Amy Florence Lennox is a talented actress from Scotland. She is well-known for her amazing performances in musical theatre shows like Kinky Boots and Cabaret. Early Life and Training
Amy Lennox grew up in Aberdeen, a city in Scotland. She studied acting at a special school called the Guildford School of Acting, where she learned many skills for the stage and screen.
Her Acting Journey
Amy started her career in London's famous West End, which is like Broadway in New York. In 2009, she was in the original cast of the musical Legally Blonde. She played a character named Margot and was also ready to step in for the main star, Sheridan Smith, as Elle Woods if needed.
In 2011, Amy performed in a play called Decade. Later that year, she was part of the very first performance of a new musical called Soho Cinders. She played a character named Velcro in a special charity show. She then continued in the first full production of Soho Cinders in 2012.
A few years later, in 2015, Amy played Cathy Hiatt in The Last Five Years in Belfast. After that, she joined the original West End cast of Kinky Boots, playing the role of Lauren. Her performance was so good that she was nominated for two big awards: the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical and the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical.
From late 2016 to early 2017, Amy performed in Lazarus, a musical inspired by the music of David Bowie. She played the character Ellie and was again nominated for a WhatsOnStage Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical in 2017.
In 2018, she took on the role of Pocahontas in a new play called Ramona Tells Jim in London.
A big step in her career was joining the TV show Holby City in January 2019. She played Chloe Godard, a CT surgeon, until 2021.
In March 2022, Amy took over the lead role of Sally Bowles in the musical Cabaret in the West End. She performed alongside actor Fra Fee.
Most recently, in June 2023, she played Sarah in a new play called Spy for Spy.
Personal Life
Amy Lennox met fellow musical theatre actor Tom Andrew Hargreaves in 2012 when they were both working on the touring production of 9 to 5. They got married in October 2021.
