Amy Pietz started her acting career with small parts in TV shows and movies. You might spot her in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation or in the movies Rudy (1993) and Jingle All the Way (1996).

Her big break came in 1995 when she was cast as Annie Spadaro in the NBC sitcom Caroline in the City. A sitcom is a "situation comedy," a funny show about characters in everyday situations. The show was very popular and was on TV until 1999. Her performance was so good that she was nominated for a major acting award in 1999.

After Caroline in the City, Pietz continued to star in other sitcoms. She was a main character in Cursed from 2000 to 2001, Rodney from 2004 to 2006, and Aliens in America from 2007 to 2008.
