Ana María Justel Eusebio is a Spanish scientist. She is a statistician, which means she works with numbers and data. She uses special math tools to study things like weather patterns and lakes in Antarctica. She is a professor of statistics at the Autonomous University of Madrid.
Becoming a Scientist
Ana Justel studied mathematics at the Complutense University of Madrid. She finished her first degree in 1990. Later, she earned her doctorate (a high-level degree) in statistics. She got this degree from Charles III University of Madrid in 1995. Her research was about finding different groups within data.
After her studies, she did more research in Belgium. In 1996, she started working at the Autonomous University of Madrid. She became a permanent professor there in 2000.
Awards and Recognition
Ana Justel received a special award in 2019. It was the first Margarita Salas Prize. This award came from the Talent Woman initiative. It celebrates women who are leaders in science and technology.
