Ana Sacerdote (born September 25, 1925 – died 2019) was an amazing artist. She was born in Rome, Italy, but later lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Ana was known for her abstract art, which means art that uses shapes, colors, and lines instead of trying to show things exactly as they look in real life. She also explored new ways to create art, like using video and computers!

Ana Sacerdote was born in Rome, Italy, on September 25, 1925. When she was older, she moved to Argentina.

Learning to Be an Artist

Ana studied art at a special school in Buenos Aires called the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredon. She learned from a famous teacher named Lino Enea Spilimbergo. This helped her develop her unique artistic style.

Showing Her Art

In the mid-1950s, Ana Sacerdote started showing her artwork. She exhibited with other artists in a group called Asociacion Arte Nuevo in Buenos Aires. A poet named Aldo Pellegrini helped organize these shows.

In 1956, Ana received a special grant from the French government. This allowed her to live and study art in Paris, France. It was a great opportunity for her to learn even more about art.

Ana continued to paint throughout the 1960s. But she also became very interested in new technologies and how they could be used to make art.
