Andreas Steinhöfel (born January 14, 1962) is a German author. He writes many popular books for children and teenagers. He also translates books into German.

About Andreas Steinhöfel
Andreas Steinhöfel grew up in a small town called Biedenkopf in Middle Hesse. He lived there with his two brothers. After finishing school, he first started studying biology and English. But then he decided to study English, American, and media studies at the University of Marburg.
His First Books
After he finished his studies in 1991, his very first book came out. It was called Dirk und ich
. One of his most famous books is Paul Vier und die Schröders, which was published in 1992. This book is now often read in German schools. A movie was even made from the book, and it won an award in 1995.Another very popular book by Steinhöfel is Die Mitte der Welt. Teenagers especially love this novel. It was nominated for a big German youth literature award in 1999. Its sequel, Defender – Geschichten aus der Mitte der Welt, was also very popular. Die Mitte der Welt was translated into English as The Center of the World. A film based on the book was released in 2016.
Andreas Steinhöfel lives and works in Hesse, Germany.
