Andreas Wolff, born on March 3, 1991, is a talented German handball player. He plays as a goalkeeper for the club THW Kiel and is also a key member of the German national team.

Andreas Wolff's Handball Journey
Andreas Wolff started playing handball at a young age. He played for local clubs like SG Ollheim/Straßfeld and HSG Rheinbach-Wormersdorf. His first big step in professional handball was with TV Kirchzell.
Playing for Top Clubs
Wolff's first major club was TV Großwallstadt, where he played until 2013. After that, he moved to HSG Wetzlar. In 2016, he joined one of Germany's top handball clubs, THW Kiel. He played there for three years. During his time at THW Kiel, he played 102 matches. He also helped the team win the DHB-Pokal (German Cup) twice. In 2019, they won the EHF European League, which is a big European competition.
In 2019, Andreas Wolff moved to Poland to play for Vive Kielce (now Industria Kielce). He had a very successful time there. He helped his team win the Polish championship four times. He also reached the final of the EHF Champions League twice. In 2022, Kielce lost to FC Barcelona Handbol in the final. In 2023, they lost to SC Magdeburg. In 2019, he was chosen as the captain of the team. In 2024, he returned to play for THW Kiel.
Playing for Germany
Andreas Wolff first played for the German B-team in 2013. Just one year later, he joined the main German national team.
European and Olympic Success
He was a very important player when the German National team won the 2016 European Men's Handball Championship in Poland. He played so well that he was chosen as the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, he won a Bronze medal with the German team. For this achievement, he received the Silbernes Lorbeerblatt, which is a special award for athletes in Germany.
Recent Tournaments
Wolff continued to represent Germany in many major tournaments. At the 2018 European Championship, Germany finished 9th. He also played for Germany at the 2020 Olympics.
At the 2022 European Championship, he played the first game. However, he had to leave the tournament early because he tested positive for COVID-19.
A year later, he played at the 2023 World Championship. Germany finished 5th in this tournament. Andreas Wolff was amazing, making 112 saves, which was the most saves by any goalkeeper in the tournament. He also saved 8 penalty throws and was named 'player of the match' three times. Because of his great performance, he was chosen for the tournament's All-Star Team.
At the 2024 European Championship, Germany finished 4th. Andreas Wolff was once again named in the All-Star Team. Later in 2024, he won a Silver medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, where Germany lost to Denmark in the final.
He also played for Germany at the 2025 World Championship, where the team finished 6th.
