Andreu Mayayo i Artal was born in Samper de Calanda, Aragon, in 1959. He is a professor of Modern History at the University of Barcelona. He also serves as the vice-dean of the Faculty of Geography and History there.
Andreu Mayayo is the main editor of the Segle XX. Revista Catalana d'Història journal. He is also part of the team that creates other Catalan magazines like L'Avenç, Sàpiens, and El Contemporani. He helps guide the Democratic Memorial of the Government of Catalonia. You might also hear him on TV and radio shows, sharing his ideas on channels like RAC 1 and Catalunya Ràdio.
