Moving to New Zealand

In 1880, Andrew Loughrey moved to Christchurch, New Zealand. He started a law firm with another person named John Holmes. Their firm was called 'Holmes and Loughrey'. When John Holmes retired, the firm changed its name to 'Loughrey and Lane' in 1890. Later, Andrew Loughrey worked as a lawyer on his own.

His Time in Parliament

Andrew Loughrey became a Member of Parliament for the Linwood area in 1887. He won against another politician named Dan Reese. He served in Parliament until 1890, when he decided not to run for election again. During his time as an MP, he supported the government led by Mr. Stout and Mr. Vogel.

Andrew Loughrey passed away on September 24, 1913.
