Andrew Wemyss, Lord Myrecairnie (born around 1545 – died 1617) was an important Scottish judge who lived a long time ago. He was known as Lord Myrecairnie.

Life of Andrew Wemyss

The Wemyss family was an old and important family in Scotland. They owned land in a place called Fife.

Andrew Wemyss was born around the mid-1500s. His father, James Wemyss, sadly died in a battle called the Battle of Pinkie in 1547. Andrew was very young when this happened, so he likely didn't remember his father much.

Andrew later owned two large properties, or "estates," in Fife. These were Myrecairnie and Logie.

In November 1591, Andrew became a "Senator of the College of Justice." This was a very important job, like being a top judge in Scotland. He worked as a judge, also called a "Lord of Session," until 1615. Andrew Wemyss passed away in March 1617.

Andrew Wemyss's Family

Andrew Wemyss was married to a woman named Grisel Drummond.

They had a son named John Wemyss of Logie. They also had two other sons, James and David, and a daughter named Eufame.
