Sir Andrew David Marsh, born in 1966, is a very important British police officer. He leads the College of Policing as its chief executive officer. He has been in this role since September 2021. The College of Policing helps train police officers and sets standards for policing in the UK.

Sir Andy Marsh's Life and Career

Sir Andy Marsh was born in 1966 in Liverpool, England. He started his career in policing in 1987.

Early Police Career

Marsh began as a new police officer in the Avon and Somerset area. He worked hard and moved up through the ranks. He became an Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) for Wiltshire Police. An ACC is a senior leader in a police force.

After that, he became an ACC again, but this time for Avon and Somerset Police. He then became the Chief Constable of Hampshire Constabulary. A Chief Constable is the top police officer in a specific area.

Leading Police Forces

From February 2016 to July 2021, Sir Andy was the Chief Constable of Avon and Somerset Police. This means he was in charge of all policing in that region. He made sure the police force worked well and kept people safe.

In 2024, he was given a special honour. He was made a Knight Bachelor for his great work in policing. This means he can use the title "Sir" before his name.
