Angélica Fuentes Téllez was born in El Paso, Texas, on February 2, 1963. She is a Mexican businesswoman. She was a major owner of Grupo Omnilife-Angelissima-Chivas. This big company in Mexico included the nutrition brand Omnilife, the beauty brand Angelíssima, and the Mexican soccer team, C.D. Guadalajara, also known as Chivas. Angélica Fuentes started Angelíssima in 2010. In 2014, she created the Angélica Fuentes Foundation. This foundation works to help women succeed and achieve fairness for all genders in Latin America.

About Angélica Fuentes
Angélica Fuentes is the daughter of Elma Téllez and Valentín Fuentes Varela. Her father was a very successful businessman in the energy field. Angélica is the second of six children in her family.
Early Inspiration and Career
Angélica says her father was one of her first inspirations for wanting a business career. She began working in her family's business when she was just 11 years old. She convinced her father to let her work at one of his gas stations. While working there, she noticed that women were sometimes treated unfairly in this industry, which was mostly run by men. This experience made her want to work even harder. It also made her want to help raise awareness about women's rights.
Education and Business Leadership
Angélica studied at the University of Texas at El Paso. She earned a bachelor's degree in finance. Later, Fuentes became the chairman of the board for Grupo Imperial Corporativo. This company is important in the energy market both in Mexico and other countries. She worked there for 29 years and is still a member of its board.
While she was the General Director of Grupo Imperial Corporativo, she also led the Mexican Natural Gas Association from 1996 to 2000. She was also a member of other important energy groups. Today, she is still a board member for several organizations, including the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Advanced Studies at Juarez.
Owning a Soccer Team
In August 2012, Angélica Fuentes and her husband, Jorge Vergara, became the sole owners of the soccer team Chivas USA.
Business Challenges and Resolution
In April 2015, Angélica Fuentes was removed from her role as CEO of their company. This led to a legal process. However, in October 2017, Angélica Fuentes and Jorge Vergara reached an agreement. Jorge Vergara paid Angélica Fuentes for her shares in Omnilife, Angelissima, and Chivas. He also confirmed that her management of the companies was clear and honest. This showed there were no issues with how she managed the businesses.
