Animac, also known as the International Animation Film Festival of Catalonia, is a cool festival that happens in Lleida, Spain. How Animac Started
The festival began in 1996. It was first called Cinemagic 96, International Animation Film Festival. This first event celebrated 100 years of cinema. Eladi Martos and Jordi Artigas were in charge of the festival. It was supported by Lleida's Cultural Department, the local Fine Arts School, and ASIFA Catalunya.
Name Changes Over Time
In 1997, the festival changed its name to Animac, International Animation Film Festival. This new name stuck for many years. Then, in 2006, it got its current full name: Animac, International Animation Film Festival of Catalonia. It has been running every year since 1996, showing the best in animation.
