Anita Thallaug (born 14 February 1938 – died 20 March 2023) was a talented Norwegian actress and singer. She was known for her work in musicals, movies, and TV shows.
About Anita Thallaug
Anita Thallaug was born in Bærum, Norway, on 14 February 1938. She started performing at a very young age. When she was just seven years old, she was already on stage at the Spider Theatre in Oslo. She used the stage name Vesla Rolfsen back then.
Throughout the 1950s, Anita was a familiar face on NRK, Norway's national broadcasting company. She often appeared in children's programs, which made her well-known to young audiences.
In 1963, Anita Thallaug represented Norway in the famous Eurovision Song Contest. She sang the song "Solhverv" (which means "Solstice"). Although she finished in 13th place, she was the first Norwegian singer to get no points in the competition. This was a unique moment in Eurovision history for Norway.
Anita was also the younger sister of Edith Thallaug, who was a famous opera singer. Anita Thallaug passed away on 20 March 2023, at the age of 85.
