Ann-Louise Hanson is a famous Swedish singer. She was born in Kristianstad, Sweden, in 1944. Ann-Louise has been singing and performing since 1956, which means she has had a very long and successful career in music!

Her first big song was in 1960. It was called "Är du ensam i kväll?", which was a Swedish version of a popular song by Elvis Presley called "Are You Lonesome Tonight?"

Music with Family

In the 1960s, Ann-Louise often recorded songs with Bruno Glenmarks Orkester. Later, Ann-Louise and Bruno Glenmark got married. They then started a music group called Glenmarks. Bruno's niece Karin and nephew Anders also joined the group.

After forming the group, they even started their own record company! It was called GlenDisc. This company released their music on vinyl records, cassettes, and later on CDs. Their company was known as 'Hanson-Glenmark Production AB'.

Melodifestivalen Record

Ann-Louise Hanson is well-known for taking part in the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen many times. This competition chooses the song that will represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest. Ann-Louise has entered the competition thirteen times! This is a record for the most entries without winning.

Even though she never won, many of her songs from the competition are still remembered. Two of her most famous entries are "Bara en enda gång" (which she sang with John Ballard) and "Kärleken lever". She also performed in the German pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1962.

Recent Career and Family

Ann-Louise moved to France with Bruno in the late 1980s. However, she now lives back in Kristianstad, Sweden.

Her most recent studio album is called Duva – Flyg igen (which means "Doves – Fly Again"). It came out in 1986 and used a lot of synth music. On this album, she sang the main song with her daughters, Jessica and Josefin. She also sang a duet with the famous musician Billy Preston on a song called "So Good, So Fine".

Ann-Louise continued to perform in Melodifestivalen. In 2019, she participated with the song "Kärleken finns kvar".

Her daughter, Josefin Glenmark, has also started her own music career, following in her mother's footsteps.
