Ann Van Elsen's Early Life and Studies
Ann Van Elsen was born in Mol, Belgium. After finishing her marketing studies, she continued her education. In 2006, she earned a Master's degree in business economics. She took her time with her studies to also work on her professional career.
Beauty Pageants and Modeling Career
Ann Van Elsen's first time appearing on a magazine cover was quite unusual. The magazine asked its readers to send in photos. They promised to feature one photo on their cover. Ann's photo was chosen! This exciting start encouraged her to enter beauty pageants. She competed in events like Miss Antwerp, Miss Belgium, and Miss Universe.
In 2002, Ann had a big year. She won both the Miss Antwerp and Miss Belgium contests. These wins meant she could then compete in the Miss World and Miss Universe competitions.
However, Ann decided not to take part in the Miss World competition held in Nigeria in 2002. She was one of the contestants who chose not to participate as a way to protest a legal decision made there.
In January 2008, Ann participated in a special photoshoot. She agreed to this because part of the payment would go to Music For Life. This is a yearly charity event organized by the radio station Studio Brussel.

Ann Van Elsen has had a busy career in both television and radio.
Television Shows
Ann has hosted many TV shows on Belgian channels TV1 and VT4. Some of these shows include Mediamadammen, which started in October 2002, Huizenjacht, and Onder Hoogspanning. She also hosted De Brandkast in 2005, Supertalent in Vlaanderen in 2007, and Summerdate. In June 2005, Ann signed a special TV contract with VT4. There, she worked as a continuity announcer and hosted several other programs.
In 2006, Ann presented the main prize to the winner of a football competition. This was for the "Pinanti is Pinanti" penalty taking contest. It was part of the TV1 sports show Studio 1 op zondag. The winner was football player Désiré Mbonabucya. During the award ceremony at the Koning Boudewijnstadion, Ann even showed off some of her own football skills!
For two years, Ann was a regular on the TV1 music show Het Swingpaleis. On this show, she was the team captain. In 2013, she presented the TV show Singles on the channel Vijf.
Radio Programs
In January 2008, Ann Van Elsen started working for Radio Donna. She hosted the Sunday Match program from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. When Radio Donna changed to MNM on January 5, 2009, she continued to host. She presented The Ann & Dave Show with Dave Peters. In early 2012, she also hosted the Monday morning program MNM Request. Since 2010, she has continued to co-host various programs on MNM. This includes a mid-morning to noon show during the summer.
Ann Van Elsen's Personal Life
Ann Van Elsen was married to Belgian soccer player Gunter Van Handenhoven. Gunter is the brother of singer Sandrine Van Handenhoven.
