Ann Van Elsen's Life
Early Life and Education
Ann Van Elsen was born in Mol, Belgium. After finishing her marketing studies, she earned a higher degree in business in 2006. She took her time with her studies so she could also work professionally.
From Modeling to Miss Belgium
Ann's first time on a magazine cover was quite unusual. The magazine asked readers to send in photos, and Ann's picture was chosen for the cover! This exciting start encouraged her to join beauty pageants like Miss Antwerp and Miss Belgium.
In 2002, Ann won both the Miss Antwerp and Miss Belgium contests. These wins meant she could enter the Miss World and Miss Universe competitions.
However, Ann chose not to take part in the Miss World competition held in Nigeria in 2002. She joined other contestants in protesting against a legal decision made in Nigeria at that time, showing her support for fairness.
