Anna Page Scott (1863-1925) was an American Impressionist painter and educator. She was known for her beautiful paintings and for teaching art to many students.

Anna Page Scott's Life

Anna Page Scott was born in Dubuque, Iowa, on October 13, 1863. She loved art from a young age. To learn more about painting, she went to several famous art schools.

She studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She also attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Later, she traveled to Paris, France, to study at the Académie Colarossi.

Around 1890, Anna moved to New York City. There, she worked as an illustrator. She created pictures for the Century Publishing Company.

In 1897, she moved to Rochester, New York. This is where she started her teaching career. She taught art at the Mechanics Institute. She taught there for many years, until 1913.

Anna Page Scott passed away in Dubuque, Iowa, on October 13, 1925.

Her Artistic Legacy

Anna Page Scott's art is still celebrated today. Her work was part of a special art show in 2016. This show was called Rebels With a Cause: American Impressionist Women.

The exhibition traveled to different places. It highlighted important women artists. These artists helped shape American Impressionism.
