Her Son, William
Anne and William had a son, also named William. He was born in 1724. When his father died in 1731, young William inherited the title of Earl of March. Later, when his mother Anne passed away in 1748, he also inherited the title of Earl of Ruglen. Even later, in 1778, he became the Duke of Queensberry, inheriting this title from a cousin, Charles Douglas. This shows how important his family was in Scottish history.
Her Second Marriage
Shortly before her own death, Anne married for a second time. Her second husband was Anthony Sawyer, Esq. He had an important job as the Paymaster to the King's forces in Scotland. This means he was in charge of paying the soldiers. Anne and Anthony did not have any children together.
