Anne went to Kabale Primary School for her early education. For her high school studies, she attended Bweranyangi Girls' Senior Secondary School in Bushenyi. Later, she went to Makerere University. There, she earned a degree called a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science.
Her Journey in Comedy
Anne Kansiime started her career in 2007. She was still a student at Makerere University at the time. She joined a theater group called Theatre Factory. They performed funny plays at the Uganda National Theatre in Kampala.
When Theatre Factory stopped performing, Anne joined a new group called Fun Factory. This group performs every Thursday evening. Their best skits were shown on NTV Uganda in a TV show called Barbed Wire, which later became U-Turn. Anne also worked with Brian Mulondo on a series called MiniBuzz. She played a taxi interviewer, making funny videos about everyday topics.
Anne started putting her comedy skits on YouTube in 2014. People loved them and gave her lots of positive feedback. This encouraged her to share more videos. Her big break came when Citizen TV in Kenya offered her a chance. They wanted her to create and star in her own weekly comedy show. This is how her popular show, Don't Mess With Kansiime, began.
By November 2014, her YouTube channel had over 15 million views. Her videos continue to get thousands of views. She has even been featured on BBC Focus on Africa. Anne has performed for huge crowds in many cities around the world. These include Blantyre, Gaborone, Kigali, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos, Lilongwe, London, Lusaka, and Harare.
