About Anne Kansiime
Early Life and School
Anne grew up in a place called Mparo, in Uganda. Her dad was a banker, and her mom took care of their home. Anne went to Kabale Primary School. For her high school education, she studied at Bweranyangi Girls' Senior Secondary School. Later, she went to Makerere University and earned a degree in Social Science.
Starting Her Comedy Journey
Anne started her career in 2007 while she was still at university. She joined a theater group called Theatre Factory. They performed funny plays at the Uganda National Theatre in Kampala. When that group changed, she joined a new one called Fun Factory. This group performs every Thursday evening.
Some of their best skits were shown on TV in a show called Barbed Wire, which later became U-Turn. Anne also worked with Brian Mulondo on a series called MiniBuzz. In this show, she pretended to be a taxi conductor and made funny videos about everyday topics that passengers talked about.
Becoming a YouTube Star
Anne started putting her comedy skits on YouTube. She got lots of positive comments, which made her want to share even more videos. Her big break came when Citizen TV in Kenya offered her a chance to create and star in her own weekly comedy show. This show became very popular and was called Don't Mess With Kansiime.
By November 2014, her YouTube channel had over 15 million views! Her videos continue to get thousands of views, and she has even been featured on BBC Focus on Africa. Anne has performed her comedy shows for huge crowds in many cities around the world, including London, Lagos, and Kigali.

Anne Kansiime often talks about her own life experiences in her comedy. She believes that talking about real-life situations makes her jokes fresh and original. Besides comedy, Anne has also worked on creating an album of children's songs.
