Anne of Avonlea is a special TV show made in the United Kingdom by the BBC. It's a short series, called a miniseries, that has 6 parts. It continues the story from another miniseries called Anne of Green Gables, which came out in 1972.
This show is based on two books by Lucy Maud Montgomery: Anne of Avonlea (from 1909) and Anne of the Island (from 1915). Both of these books are sequels to her famous 1908 novel, Anne of Green Gables. The British version of Anne of Avonlea was directed by Joan Craft, and Kim Braden played the main character, Anne.

What Happens in the Story
In this miniseries, Anne starts a new adventure as a teacher at the local school. While she's teaching, she also works hard to achieve her dream of becoming a published writer. She even tries to win an essay contest! Anne also meets different people who are interested in her. Whenever she can, she goes back to Green Gables to visit her adoptive mother, Marilla.
