Annihilationism facts for kids
Annihilationism (also called conditional immortality) is a belief held by some Christians. People who believe in annihilationism think that those who do not go to heaven do not live forever in hell. Instead, they believe these individuals eventually die and stop existing completely. Annihilationists often believe that people are punished for a period of time in hell before they stop existing. Most Christians do not share this belief.
Understanding Annihilationism
Annihilationism is a different idea about what happens after death for people who are not going to heaven. Instead of an endless life in hell, this belief suggests that a person's existence eventually ends. The term "conditional immortality" means that living forever (immortality) is conditional, or depends on, certain things, like faith in God. If those conditions aren't met, then immortality isn't granted.
