Antelope Valley, also known as "Dry Valley," is a long, flat area in the state of Nevada, USA. It's like a big, open space surrounded by mountains and hills. This valley is located in a part of Nevada that is known for its dry climate.

Where is Antelope Valley?

Antelope Valley is found in central Nevada. It's about 16.5 miles (26.5 km) east of another valley called Monitor Valley. It's also about 10 miles (16 km) south of Koben Valley.

What's Around the Valley?

The valley has natural borders all around it:

  • To the west, you'll find the Toiyabe National Forest. This is a large area with trees and nature.
  • To the north, it's bordered by Bean Flat and a mountain called Lone Mountain.

  • To the south, the valley is next to Horse Heaven Mountain and Ninemile Peak.

These natural features help define the shape and location of Antelope Valley.

Why is it Called "Dry Valley"?

Nevada is mostly a desert state, meaning it doesn't get much rain. Because of this, many valleys in Nevada, including Antelope Valley, are quite dry. This is why it's sometimes called "Dry Valley." The land here often has plants that can live with very little water.
