Antonio Rodríguez de Pazos y Figueroa (died 1586) was an important leader in the Catholic Church. He served as a bishop in two different places: first in Patti, Italy, and later in Córdoba, Spain.

Life and Work

Antonio Rodríguez de Pazos y Figueroa became a bishop in 1568. This happened during the time of Pope Pius V. His first role was as the Bishop of Patti, a city in Italy.

On December 8, 1568, he was officially made a bishop. This special ceremony was led by Francisco Pacheco de Villena. Other important church leaders also helped with the ceremony.

He worked as the Bishop of Patti for about ten years. He then left that role in 1578.

In 1582, he was chosen to be the Bishop of Córdoba in Spain. This appointment was made by Pope Gregory XIII. He continued to serve the church in Córdoba until he passed away in 1586.

Helping Other Bishops

During his time as a bishop, Antonio Rodríguez de Pazos y Figueroa also helped other church leaders begin their important roles. He was the main person who helped make Pedro Fernández Temiño the Bishop of Ávila in 1582.

He also helped in the ceremonies for several other bishops. These included Rodrigo de Vadillo, Jerónimo Albornoz, Antonio Paliettino, and Andrés Cabrera Bobadilla. He played a part in helping them become bishops.
