The Arab Arch (which is called Puerta Árabe in Spanish) is a special old arch found in a town called Ágreda in Spain. It was built in a unique horseshoe shape. This arch is considered very important and was officially named a Bien de Interés Cultural (which means a "Property of Cultural Interest") in 1931.
History of the Arch
This amazing arch is one of only two gates that are still standing from the medieval city of Ágreda. It was built a long, long time ago in the 10th century. At that time, it was part of a big city wall that the Arab people built around Ágreda. The original wall had four gates, but only two, including this one, have survived until today.
