The Argentine Chamber of Phonograms and Videograms Producers, usually called CAPIF (from its Spanish name, Spanish: Cámara Argentina de Productores de Fonogramas y Videogramas), is an organization in Argentina. It's like a special club for the music industry there.
CAPIF is a member of the IFPI, which is a big group that represents the music industry worldwide. CAPIF helps protect the interests of music companies, both big international ones and smaller local ones, in Argentina. It's a nonprofit organization, meaning it doesn't aim to make money for itself.

Music Awards: Gold, Platinum, and Diamond
CAPIF is well-known for giving out awards to music artists. These awards are for albums and singles that sell a lot of copies. They are called Gold, Platinum, and Diamond certifications. It's a way to celebrate popular music!
CAPIF started giving these awards in 1980. Back then, an album needed to sell 30,000 copies to be Gold. To be Platinum, it needed to sell 60,000 copies.
Over time, how people buy music has changed a lot. Because of this, CAPIF has changed the number of sales needed for these awards. They lowered the numbers in 2001 and again in 2016. This helps the awards still make sense with how music is sold today. Now, they even give awards for music that is streamed online!

CAPIF Music Charts
For many years, CAPIF also created the main music sales charts in Argentina. These charts showed which songs and albums were selling the most each month. They looked at both physical sales (like CDs) and digital sales (like downloads).
CAPIF stopped publishing these charts in 2018. Now, other groups publish the main music charts for Argentina. For example, Diario de Cultura publishes a weekly chart for the top 10 albums. The main chart for singles in Argentina is now the Argentina Hot 100, which is published by Billboard.
CAPIF used to publish charts like:
- Top 10 Albums (based on physical sales)
- Top 10 Singles (based on digital sales)
- Top 10 Albums (from music stores)
- Year-End Top 10 Albums and Singles
Past Number-One Hits
CAPIF also kept track of which songs and albums reached the number one spot on their charts.
- 2017 (albums and singles)
- 2018 (albums and singles)
