About Arigon Starr
Arigon Starr was born in Pensacola, Florida. Her parents are Ken and Ruth Wahpecome. She is a member of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma. She also has Muscogee family roots.
Later, Starr moved to Los Angeles. There, she worked for big entertainment companies like Viacom and Showtime Network. But she loved music and art so much that she decided to leave her corporate job. She wanted to become a full-time musician and artist.
Super Indian Comics
The idea for Super Indian, Arigon Starr's first comic, started in Australia. She was at a theater workshop and thought about a Native American superhero. In 2007, Arigon wrote a ten-part radio comedy series. This show was for the Native Radio Theater Project.
She then used these radio scripts to start making a comic book. When she began, Arigon didn't know much about making comics. She had only drawn them for fun as a child. She worked on an early comic called "Super Indian: Origins." It was 23 pages long and followed the first radio episode.
Arigon Starr and her editor, Janet Miner, started Rezium Studios. In April 2011, they launched Super Indian as a webcomic. Starr posted new comic panels online every Monday. The stories published online became the first Super Indian comic book. Starr created the second Super Indian book in 2015. She is also working on a third book.
Meet Super Indian
Super Indian's real name is Hubert Logan. He was just a normal boy living on a Reservation. But then he ate some special cheese that had a secret ingredient called Rezium. This gave him superpowers!
As Super Indian, Hubert Logan is brave, funny, and a bit silly. He fights bad guys who try to take over the Reservation's land and people. He gets help from his loyal friends, Mega Bear and Diogi. Together, they work to keep their community safe.
