Aristides Agramonte y Simoni (born June 3, 1868 – died August 19, 1931) was an important Cuban-American doctor and scientist. He studied tiny living things (bacteriology) and diseases common in warm, tropical places (tropical medicine).
In 1898, he joined the U.S. Army as a doctor. He was sent to Cuba to study a serious outbreak of yellow fever. Later, he became a key member of the Yellow Fever Commission. This group, led by Walter Reed, worked to understand how yellow fever was spread.

Studying Diseases
