Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut was born to Leslie Sharpe Chestnut and Charles S. Chestnut IV. She grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ashlei went to Northwest School of the Arts. There, she studied Theatre and Dance. In 2015, she earned a special degree called a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting. She got this degree from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro's School of Music, Theatre and Dance.
