Asuka Tateishi (立石 飛鳥, Tateishi Asuka, born June 9, 1983) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender.

Asuka Tateishi's Football Journey
Asuka Tateishi was born in Makurazaki, Japan, on June 9, 1983. He grew up loving football and played for Kagoshima Jitsugyo High School. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career.
Starting with Avispa Fukuoka
In 2002, Asuka joined Avispa Fukuoka, a team in the J2 League, which is Japan's second-highest professional football league. He quickly got chances to play in his very first season.
In October 2003, he went on loan to Thespa Kusatsu. This team played in the Japanese Regional Leagues, which are lower-level leagues. He played one match for them in the Emperor's Cup.
Asuka returned to Avispa Fukuoka in 2004. However, he found it harder to get playing time. He played only a few matches during this period.
Moving to Sagan Tosu and V-Varen Nagasaki
In September 2005, Asuka moved to another J2 League team, Sagan Tosu. Even there, he didn't get to play much.
His career changed when he moved to V-Varen Nagasaki in October 2006. This team was in the Regional Leagues at the time. He started playing many more matches for them in 2007.
V-Varen Nagasaki worked hard and was promoted to the Japan Football League at the end of the 2008 season. This was a big step up for the team! Asuka played many games again in 2009, helping his team.
He decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2009 season. Throughout his career, Asuka Tateishi played a total of 78 league matches and scored 5 goals.
