Atlanta Black Pride is a big celebration that started in 1996. It's one of the main festivals for African-American people who are part of the LGBT community. This event happens every year in Atlanta, Georgia, around the end of August and beginning of September, during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Atlanta Black Pride is the largest celebration of its kind in the world. About 100,000 people attend each year! This event brings a lot of money to Atlanta's economy, helping local businesses and the city. Atlanta is known as a welcoming place for black LGBT people. It has a large and active community of black LGBT individuals.

Atlanta's Winter Pride Event

Atlanta also hosts another important event earlier in the year. This happens during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend in January. Many special events and celebrations take place for black LGBT people and visitors.

Coretta Scott King, who was Martin Luther King Jr.'s wife and lived in Atlanta, was a strong supporter of the black LGBT community. In 1998, she said that she believed her husband would have also supported LGBT rights.
