Audrey Delsanti (born on August 27, 1976) is a French astronomer. She works at the European Southern Observatory's (ESO) La Silla Observatory in Chile. She is known for discovering minor planets.
The Minor Planet Center says she discovered two minor planets. One of these is a trans-Neptunian object called (40314) 1999 KR16. She helped discover this object in 1999.
In 2004, Audrey Delsanti received a special award. It was a NASA Postdoctoral Fellowship in astrobiology. This allowed her to study at the Institute for Astronomy. This institute is part of the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.

What is an Astronomer?
An astronomer is a scientist who studies space. They look at stars, planets, and galaxies. They use telescopes to learn about the universe. Audrey Delsanti is an astronomer. She focuses on objects in our solar system.
Discovering Minor Planets
Minor planets are small objects in space. They orbit the Sun, just like planets. But they are much smaller. Asteroids and dwarf planets are types of minor planets. Audrey Delsanti has found some of these objects. This helps us understand our solar system better.
Trans-Neptunian Objects
Some minor planets are called trans-Neptunian objects. This means they orbit the Sun farther away than the planet Neptune. These objects are often very cold and icy. Studying them gives clues about the early solar system. Audrey Delsanti co-discovered one of these.
Her Work and Research
Audrey Delsanti's work involves studying space. She uses powerful telescopes in Chile. The La Silla Observatory is a great place for this. It has very clear skies.
Astrobiology Research
Astrobiology is a field that combines astronomy and biology. Astrobiologists study if life could exist elsewhere in the universe. They look for signs of life on other planets or moons. Audrey Delsanti's fellowship in astrobiology shows her interest in this exciting area.
