Auke Lake is a beautiful lake located in Auke Bay in Juneau, Alaska. It covers about 160 acres (0.65 square kilometers). The local Tlingit people call it Áak'w or Yax̱te, which means 'little lake'.

Fish and Wildlife
Many different types of fish live in Auke Lake. You can find Dolly Varden, cutthroat trout, and steelhead trout here. Four different kinds of salmon also make their home in the lake. This makes Auke Lake a great place for fishing. It is also a good spot to observe local wildlife.
Scenic Views and Landmarks
Auke Lake offers some of the most photographed views in Juneau, Alaska. From the Glacier Highway side, you can see amazing views of Mount McGinnis and the Towers. These mountains create a beautiful backdrop for the lake.
The lake area also has some interesting local landmarks. One of these is known as the "flamingo house." Another is the Auke Lake Curling Club, where people enjoy the sport of curling.
