About Aurélie Resch
Aurélie Resch has written eight books. She has also contributed to many collections of stories and poems. Her writing often explores themes like being away from home (called exile) and searching for who you are (called the quest of identity). Because of this, she was a finalist for important awards in 2002 and 2005, like the CBC Readers Awards.
In 2011, her children's book, "Les voleurs de couleurs" (which means "The Color Thieves"), was nominated for the Trillium Book Award. Her first poetry collection, "Cendres de lune" (meaning "Moon Ashes"), was also nominated for the same award in 2012.
Travel Writing and Films
Aurélie is also a well-known travel writer. Her articles have appeared in many newspapers and magazines. Some of these include the Toronto Star, La Presse, and Dreamscapes Travel. She also writes for literary and cultural magazines in Canada.
Besides writing, Aurélie directs films for French Canadian television. She teaches writing workshops in French and bilingual schools and universities. She is also invited to speak at literary festivals in Canada and France. In 2008, she was recognized for her work in promoting French culture and literature.
Helping the Arts
Since 2005, Aurélie Resch has been part of literary juries. These groups help choose which books and projects get support from organizations like the Canadian Council for the Arts. This means she helps decide which new stories and films are worth supporting.
