Australian Army Land Warfare Centre, Western Australia facts for kids
The Land Warfare Centre WA was a special training place for the Australian Army in Fremantle, Western Australia. It was located at Leeuwin Barracks. Its main job was to help train soldiers for combat, which means preparing them for real-life fighting situations.
This centre was part of a bigger group called the Land Warfare Centre (LWC), which had its main office in Canungra, Queensland. Before it was called the Land Warfare Centre WA, it had a different name: the Regional Training Centre WA. It changed its name when the main group it belonged to also changed its name back to LWC.
The Land Warfare Centre WA stopped operating on 1 January 2009. The last person in charge of the Land Warfare Centre was Brigadier Stephen Gerard Cain.
