Avant Browser facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Avant Browser is a free web browser created by a Chinese programmer named Anderson Che. A web browser is a special computer program that lets you explore websites on the internet.

Avant Browser works in a way that is similar to Internet Explorer. It uses the same core technology, often called the "Trident layout engine," that Internet Explorer uses to show web pages. However, Avant Browser adds many more features and allows you to change its look and settings much more than Internet Explorer does. This means you can customize it to fit your needs and preferences.

You can only use Avant Browser on computers that run the Microsoft Windows operating system. It also needs to have Internet Explorer (versions 6, 7, or 8) already installed on the computer to work properly.

Avant Browser is available in many different languages, 41 to be exact. By November 2008, it had been downloaded over 22 million times by people around the world.
