Babajide "Jide" Ogunbiyi (born October 30, 1986) is a former American soccer player. He played as a defender, a position that helps protect the goal.

Early Life and Growing Up
Jide Ogunbiyi was born in Rochester, New York. His father, Lai, was from Nigeria and worked with medicines. His mother, Elaine, was from Jamaica and studied how living things work.
Jide has two siblings. His younger brother, Ayotunde, also played soccer. His older sister, Temitayo, is an artist.
Jide went to Wissahickon High School in Ambler, Pennsylvania. There, he played both basketball and soccer. In soccer, he was a team captain in his final year. As a young player, he also attended the Pepsi Football Academy. He was named the most valuable player three times there.
Soccer Career
College Soccer Days
Ogunbiyi went to Santa Clara University. He played for their soccer team, the Broncos. During his time there, he played as both a defender and a forward. He scored 11 goals in 77 games. His team won the West Coast Conference championship in 2006 and 2007.
Professional Club Career
In 2009, the New York Red Bulls soccer team chose Ogunbiyi in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft. They were interested in his height and strength. However, they could not agree on a contract, so he finished his last year of college.
In 2009, he tried out for two English soccer clubs, Leeds United and Oldham Athletic, but did not sign with them.
In 2010, Ogunbiyi signed his first professional contract with Viborg FF in Denmark. A scout from Viborg saw him play and was impressed. He played for Viborg for two and a half seasons. He appeared in 53 matches and scored six goals. In the 2010–11 season, he scored 5 goals in 28 league games. He was named Viborg's player of the year for that season. He was also chosen for the Danish 1st Division team of the year. While in Denmark, Jide wrote articles for Goal.com about his experiences.
In 2012, Ogunbiyi signed with the New York Red Bulls again after a trial. But he was released a few weeks later due to health reasons.
After playing for Vendsyssel FF in Denmark for part of the 2012–13 season, he returned to Viborg FF in 2013. He played for them until his contract ended in December 2015.
After leaving Viborg, he signed an 18-month deal with Hobro IK, another Danish club. He played for Hobro IK until the 2016–17 season. He then retired from playing soccer because of ongoing injuries.
International Soccer
Babajide Ogunbiyi was born in America, and his father was from Nigeria. This meant he could play for either the United States or the Nigeria national teams. He was part of Nigeria's youth team program, but he never played in an official match for either country.
