Babajide "Jide" Ogunbiyi (born October 30, 1986) is a former American soccer player. He played as a defender, a position that helps protect the team's goal. Jide played for several teams during his career, mostly in Denmark, before he retired due to injuries.

Jide's Early Life and Family
Jide Ogunbiyi was born in Rochester, New York. His father, Lai, was a scientist from Nigeria. His mother, Elaine, was also a scientist from Jamaica. Jide has two siblings. His younger brother, Ayotunde, also played soccer. His older sister, Temitayo, is an artist.
Jide went to Wissahickon High School in Ambler, Pennsylvania. While in high school, he played both basketball and soccer. In soccer, he was a team captain in his final year. As a young player, he also attended the Pepsi Football Academy. He was named the most valuable player three times there.
Jide's Soccer Career
Playing in College
Jide attended Santa Clara University. He played for their soccer team, the Santa Clara Broncos. During his time there, he also played as a forward, scoring 11 goals in 77 games. He helped the Broncos win the West Coast Conference championship in both 2006 and 2007.
Professional Club Career
In 2009, Jide was chosen by the New York Red Bulls in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft. The team was interested in his height and strength. However, they could not agree on a contract, so Jide decided to finish his last year of college.
In 2009, Jide tried out for two English soccer clubs, Leeds United and Oldham Athletic, but he did not sign with either team.
In 2010, Jide signed his first professional contract with Viborg FF in Denmark. A scout from Viborg saw him play and was impressed. Jide played for Viborg for two and a half seasons. He played in 53 matches and scored six goals. In the 2010–11 season, he scored 5 goals in 28 league games. He was named the club's player of the year for that season. He was also chosen for the Danish 1st Division team of the year. While in Denmark, Jide wrote articles for Goal.com about his experiences living there.
In 2012, Jide signed with the New York Red Bulls again after a trial. However, he was released a few weeks later due to health issues.
After playing for Vendsyssel FF in Denmark, Jide returned to Viborg FF in 2013. He played for them until his contract ended in December 2015. After that, he signed with Danish Superliga club Hobro IK. He played there until the 2016–17 season. Jide retired from soccer after that season because of ongoing injuries.
International Soccer
Jide was born in America, and his father was from Nigeria. This meant he could have played for either the United States or the Nigeria national team. He was part of Nigeria's youth team program, but he never played in an official match for either country.
