Bachiarius facts for kids
Bachiarius was an early Christian writer who lived a very long time ago, in the 400s. We know about him mainly from two letters he wrote. These letters suggest he was a monk from a region called Gallaecia, which is now part of modern-day Spain.
What Bachiarius Wrote
Bachiarius is known for two important writings:
- Liber de Fide (The Book of Faith): This was a letter he wrote to the Pope. In it, Bachiarius explained and defended his Christian beliefs.
- Ad Januariam liber de reparatione lapsi (To Januarius, a book about restoring someone who has fallen): This was a letter where Bachiarius asked an abbot (a leader of a monastery) to help a monk who had made a mistake and needed support to get back on track.
