Baco is a place in Panama. It is a type of local government area called a corregimiento. Baco is located within the Barú District in the Chiriquí Province.

Baco covers a land area of about 75.9 square kilometers (about 29.3 square miles). In 2010, the population of Baco was 7,334 people. This means that about 96.6 people lived in each square kilometer.
How Baco Was Formed
Baco became a corregimiento on March 7, 1997. This happened because of a special rule called Law 10. Later, other rules were added to help define Baco even more. These were Law 5 on January 19, 1998, and Law 69 on October 28, 1998. In the year 2000, Baco had a population of 7,101 people.
