History of Balltown
Balltown was named after an early settler in the area, a man named James Ball. He was one of the first people to build a home and live in this part of Kentucky.
A post office was opened in Balltown in 1884. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for about 20 years, closing down in 1904.
