Barbara Pratt grew up in St. Catherine's, Newfoundland. She went to Rothesay Netherwood School. Later, she earned a degree from Acadia University.
What She Paints
When she first started painting, Barbara mostly focused on people. She paid special attention to the clothes they wore. She also paints beautiful flowers. Sometimes, she paints large oil tankers. These ships are important to Newfoundland's oil industry.
Her Art Shows
Barbara had her very first art show all by herself in 1986. It was at the Spurrell Gallery in St. John's. In 2010, she created paintings inspired by a long train trip. She traveled from Toronto all the way to Vancouver. Just two years later, her artwork was shown at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. This is a well-known art museum in Canada.
