Barbara Pratt grew up in a place called St. Catherine's, in St. Mary's Bay, Newfoundland. She went to Rothesay Netherwood School and later studied at Acadia University. There, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.

What She Paints

When Barbara Pratt first started painting, she mostly focused on people. She paid special attention to the clothes they wore in her artworks. Over time, her art also began to feature other things. She has painted beautiful flowers and even large oil tankers. These tankers are important to Newfoundland's offshore oil industry.

Exhibitions and Shows

Barbara Pratt had her very first solo art show in 1986. It was held at the Spurrell Gallery in St. John's. In 2010, she created a special art exhibit. This show was inspired by a long train trip she took from Toronto all the way to Vancouver. Just two years later, in 2012, her amazing artwork was displayed at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
