Barlow is a small, unincorporated community located in western Barlow Township, within Washington County, Ohio, in the United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live together, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Even though it's unincorporated, Barlow has its own ZIP code, which is 45712.

You can find Barlow where two state roads, Ohio State Route 339 and Ohio State Route 550, meet. It's also close to the South Fork of Wolf Creek. This creek eventually flows into the Muskingum River further north, near a place called Waterford.

A Look Back: Barlow's History

Barlow was officially planned out and marked on a map in the year 1840. This process, called "platting," means that the streets and building lots were carefully laid out for the community.

Learning in Barlow

For those who love to read and learn, Barlow has a public library. This library is a branch of the larger Washington County Public Library system, offering books and resources to everyone in the community.
