Baron Ambrosia was a fun and unique character. He was played by explorer Justin Fornal from 2006 to 2013. The Baron called himself a "quaffer of culinary consciousness." This means he loved to explore and share amazing food experiences.
He traveled around New York City, especially in The Bronx. His goal was to discover different cultures through their food. He often visited small restaurants, food trucks, and street vendors. Baron Ambrosia appeared in several shows. These included Underbelly NYC, Bronx Flavor on BronxNet, and "The Culinary Adventures of Baron Ambrosia" on the Cooking Channel.
In 2012, Justin Fornal won a New York Emmy Award. This award was for his great performance as Baron Ambrosia. After making a movie called BARON AMBROSIA IS DEAD, Fornal stopped playing the character. He wanted to focus full-time on exploring and making documentary films.

The Baron's Adventures Begin
The Baron Ambrosia character first appeared in 2006. This was in an online video show called Underbelly NYC. You could find this show through Liberated Syndication. It became very popular, even reaching the number one spot on iTunes for food podcasts. Justin Fornal created eight episodes of Underbelly NYC.
In early 2008, Baron Ambrosia returned to TV. He starred in Bronx Flavor on BronxNet. This is a public access TV channel in the Bronx, New York.
Exploring Food and Fun
Both Underbelly NYC and Bronx Flavor focused on Baron Ambrosia's food adventures. He often explored ethnic foods and restaurants. These were places that bigger media outlets usually didn't cover. Bronx Flavor specifically focused on his journeys in the Bronx.
In both shows, Baron Ambrosia included local people. He would involve business owners, diners, and even people passing by. They would join him in funny skits. Justin Fornal wrote, directed, and edited all episodes of Underbelly NYC and Bronx Flavor.
People loved the shows because they were both educational and funny. Each episode usually started with the Baron describing a certain community. Then, he would focus on their special food traditions. The Baron would then search for this food. He often ended up in funny situations because he was so excited about food.
Baron Ambrosia on the Cooking Channel
In May 2011, Baron Ambrosia started filming a special show. It was for the Cooking Channel and was called The Culinary Adventures of Baron Ambrosia.
The pilot episode aired on November 6, 2011. It showed Baron Ambrosia facing a challenge. He was accused of stealing a pie! To prove himself, he went to Newark, New Jersey. He searched for "Jersey Devil fajitas," which were said to give super strength. Along the way, he found other tasty foods like Trinidadian roti and Italian hot dogs.
On June 1, 2012, the first official episode of The Culinary Adventures of Baron Ambrosia premiered. It was called "The Just Desserts of P.T. Barnum." In this episode, Baron found a treasure map. He then explored Bridgeport, Connecticut, looking for P.T. Barnum's tasty treasure. He tried Peruvian ceviche and Haitian oxtail. He even rode a food truck with Jamaican jerk chicken!
The Baron's Final Act
On November 2, 2013, Baron Ambrosia's first full-length movie came out. It was based on the Bronx Flavor series. The movie was called "Baron Ambrosia is Dead." It was shown for free to the community. The screening took place outdoors at the Andrew Freedman Mansion in the Bronx.
