Baron Nugent facts for kids
A Baron is a noble title, one of the oldest in the United Kingdom. It's a special rank given by a king or queen. The title of Baron Nugent has been created three different times. Each time, the title was given to a different person or family. All three of these titles no longer exist today, meaning they are "extinct."
The first time the title was created was in 1767. This was part of the Peerage of Ireland, which means it was a noble title recognized in Ireland. The second creation was also in the Peerage of Ireland in 1800. The third and final creation happened in 1960, as part of the Peerage of the United Kingdom.

The title was created with a special rule. It was set up so that it would pass to her second son, Lord George Nugent-Grenville, after her death. This is called a "special remainder." When Mary died in 1812, her son Lord George became the second Baron Nugent. The title became extinct when he passed away in 1850, as he had no children to inherit it.
