Beate Grimsrud facts for kids
Beate Grimsrud (born 28 April 1963 – died 1 July 2020) was a talented writer from Norway. She was born in a place called Bærum. Beate Grimsrud was known for writing many books, which are called novels, and also for writing plays for the theater.
Some of her most famous books include Continental Heaven from 1993, Å smyge forbi en øks from 1998, and Søvnens lekkasje from 2007. Her novel En dåre fri (which means 'A Fool Set Free') came out in 2010. This book was very special because it won the Norwegian Critics Prize for Literature, which is a big award for writers in Norway.
Beate Grimsrud also wrote the story for a movie called Ballen i øyet (meaning 'The Ball in the Eye') in 2000. In 2011, she received another important award, the Dobloug Prize, for her work.
Beate Grimsrud passed away on 1 July 2020, at the age of 57, after an illness.
