Beatriz Taibo (born March 10, 1932 – died March 2, 2019) was a famous actress from Argentina. She starred in many movies and TV shows, becoming a well-known face on screens across her country.

Beatriz Taibo was born in San Telmo, a neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1932.

Starting Young: Radio Star

Beatriz began acting when she was just ten years old. In 1942, she joined a radio show called La Pandilla Marilyn. Soon, she was working a lot in radio, not just acting but also hosting and announcing.

She even got a funny nickname, "Moth." This was because she did many advertisements for moth balls. People remembered her voice from those ads!

First Steps in Film

Beatriz was supposed to make her movie debut in 1950. The film was called The Millions of Semillita, but it was never released. Her first released film was Los Pérez García, which was based on a popular radio series. This show told the adventures of the Garcia family as they moved.

TV and Commercials

In the 1960s, Beatriz became even more famous. She appeared in commercials for Lux soap. She also co-hosted a popular radio show on Radio Belgrano with Antonio Carrizo. They were known for making advertisements sound like fun conversations. For example, Beatriz might ask, "Traffic's at a standstill. What do you think happened?" Antonio would reply, "A Sunlight girl must have walked by!"

Shining on Stage

Beatriz also performed in the theatre. A very famous play she was in was Boeing-Boeing. This play was so popular that it ran for four seasons! She acted alongside other well-known stars like Ernesto Bianco and her friend Nelly Beltrán.

In 1955, she appeared in the movie Para vestir santos (To Dress Saints). This film was directed by Leopoldo Torre Nilsson. Beatriz had a supporting role in it, acting with the famous Tita Merello.

Television Success

During the 1960s, Beatriz started acting a lot on television. She became a lead actress in many popular soap operas. Some of these included Inconquistable Viviana Holguera and Adorable Professor Aldao.

One of her most memorable TV roles was in the comedy Call Me Sparrow. In this show, Beatriz played a woman who had to pretend to be a man for her job. It was a very funny and popular series!
