Beaver Towers is an exciting fantasy novel for children written by British author Nigel Hinton. It was first published in 1980 and was his very first book for young readers. This book is also the start of the popular Beaver Towers series.
The story follows a schoolboy named Philip. One day, his kite carries him away to a mysterious island. This island is special because it's ruled by smart, talking animals! But not everything is peaceful. The animals are in danger from a mean witch and her helpers. Philip must help them save their home.
How the Story Started
Nigel Hinton, the author, wanted to write an adventure story. He imagined a young boy traveling to an island filled with magic, dangers, and excitement. These are things you wouldn't normally find in real life. Someone suggested the idea of a kite carrying the boy away, and that's how the adventure began!
