Benishangul-Gumuz is a special region in Ethiopia, a country in Africa. It's known as a "Regional State." The main city and capital of this region is Asosa.
The name "Benishangul-Gumuz" comes from two important groups of people who live there. These groups are the Berta, who are also called Benishangul, and the Gumuz.
