Berta Golob is a well-known Slovene writer and poet. She was also a teacher and a librarian for many years before she retired. She was born on August 9, 1932, in Struževo, which is now part of the city of Kranj in Slovenia.
Berta Golob went to the University of Ljubljana to study Slavistics. This means she learned a lot about Slavic languages and cultures. After her studies, she worked as both a teacher and a librarian. She loves to write, especially books for children. Many of her recent books and poems are about religious topics.
In 1982, Berta Golob received a special honor called the Levstik Award. She won this award for her book titled Žive besede, which means Living Words. This award is very important in Slovenia for children's literature.
